Patronal Feast of Saint Montfort Parish in Indonesia

PIR BUTONG, Indonesia - The parish's anniversary celebrations were held for nearly a month, during April. All the activities were carried out by involving all elements in the parish and were aimed not only at parishioners but also to members of other Churches and other religions. We carried out all our activities in the spirit of “Dare to Take Risks for God and for Humanity”.
Social service activities were incarnated in the form of cleaning up the church and rectory, as well as several public places in Bukit Sawit Village. Humanitarian activities were translated in the form of the distribution of basic needs, free health and medical services, as well as special services for the elderly and sick people. Recreation activities were opened with boys and girls volleyball match starting in mid of March 2023.
Finally, the peak of all was the Liturgical celebration. Before the celebration of Saint Montfort's feast day, we made spiritual preparations through the novena and triduum of Saint Montfort with various sub-themes from April 25 to 27, 2023. On the first day of the Triduum, we reflected on the theme of “Dare to take risks for God and for humanity» which was taken from the theme of the General Chapter 2023. The theme of the second day was “Saint Montfort, Father of the Poor” while the theme of the last day was “Saint Montfort, the apostle of youth”.
We hope that all these activities will inspire all of you on how to introduce Montfort and his teachings in a synodal spirit in the context of parish life. Happy general chapter for the capitulants and for all of us.
