First Religious Profession

KIUNGA, Papua New Guinea - On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, we had our first profession in the Cathedral of Daru-Kiunga diocese. It was a beautiful and joyful experience for me and my two brothers. As Mary offered her Son Jesus to God, we vowed to a life of Obedience, Poverty and Chastity in the presence of the Delegation Superior, Fr. Aloisius BANGGUR, SMM who represented Father General and the congregation. It was just fitting to celebrate because it was the day of the consecrated life or the religious. For the three of us, this day has marked a very special and significant event in our life as religious brothers. It will never pass without our prayer and reflection on this occasion...

Consecration to Jesus through Mary for three Novices

KIUNGA, Papua New Guinea - Consecration is a wonderful and exciting journey. It begins with the thirty-three days of silence, prayer, and reflections. Four Montfort Fathers journeyed and helped three novices in deepening their knowledge of the World, the Self, Mary and of Jesus. As it was stressed by many people and even the Delegation Superior, Fr. Aloisius BANGGUR, SMM: “It will be history in the Company of Mary in Daru-Kiunga diocese that after sixty-five years of its mission and first of its kind, Montfort Novices will be consecrating themselves in the Montfortian way”...

Sharing of Three Novices from Papua New Guinea

PAPUA NEW GUINEA - In the novitiate, we are privileged to do our apostolate every Sunday in various needs to the pastoral care. One of the many needs that we have in our mission area is the lack of basic catechism to know the faith and some of the practices in the church. Fortunately, we have been given many chances to preach basic catechism and some of the teachings of the Church to the people. It was done about half an hour before the celebration of the Holy Eucharist began...

Walking Together - A Shared Missionary Experience

PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea - One of the most intimate opportunities inscribed in the heart of every Montfortian missionary, those among others who work together in PNG, is the authentic sharing of missionary life. This was keenly felt on Friday, December 16, 2022, as part of an Entity Assembly in Port Moresby. Every missionary who works in this country known especially as the homeland of a certain species of "bird of paradise", has had the opportunity to express what he had in his heart filled with simplicity and brotherly love...
