Celebration of the Consecration to Jesus through Mary in Montreal
[FR]
MONTREAL, Canada – The preparation for the Consecration to Jesus through Mary, carefully adapted to our contemporary reality while preserving the spirit and various references of Father de Montfort, was led by Father Doris TOMBAOSA, S.M.M., and took place throughout the fall of 2024 at the Marie-Reine-des-Cœurs Sanctuary in Montreal. A total of 28 participants took part with dedication and enthusiasm.
At the end of the session, participants were invited to join the Associates of the Sanctuary next spring.
On Monday, December 9, 2024, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, Father Doris presided over the Mass, joined by two Montfortian Fathers, during which 20 laypeople made their First Consecration, while 8 associates renewed theirs.
The hymns chosen in honor of Mary, led by the Senegalese choir, enriched the celebration of the Consecration to Jesus through Mary, fostering an atmosphere of prayer and communion. During Mass after communion, participants came forward to sign the registers in which the names of those making their Consecration were recorded.
At the end of the celebration, Father Doris gave each participant an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the formula of the Consecration printed on the back, providing a tangible reminder of their act of Consecration.
The participants were joyful in experiencing their First Consecration and left with the assurance that Mary would accompany them on their journey of faith.
This was a celebration filled with joy and hope under the gaze of the Virgin Mary, the Immaculate Conception! The faithful attending the celebration warmly applauded “these new consecrated ones.”
We give thanks for this Marian celebration and for the Consecration to Jesus through Mary that we have just experienced! May this Consecration deepen our relationship and devotion to Mary, “so as to establish more perfectly our devotion to Jesus Christ” (True Devotion to Mary, no. 62).
