QUEZON CITY, Philippines - Last October 31, 2020, the scholasticate community headed by Fr. Benjie Notarte, SMM and Fr. Gener Pito, SMM, together with the collegian community under the supervision of Fr. Federick Yumang, SMM, organized an event entitled Harana kay Maria: Pagsuyo sa Natatanging Ina as a culmination activity for the Rosary month. It was held at the Mary Queen of All Hearts Chapel in Scout Madriñan, South Triangle, Quezon City. The celebration started around 4:30 in the afternoon with Bro. Lester Bonete, SMM and Fr. Benjie Notarte, SMM as the hosts.

It was truly a tremendous event. The celebration had two parts. The first part began with the enthronement of the image of the Mary Queen of All Hearts and was followed by an interpretative dance presented by the collegian community (Fr. Frederick Yumang, SMM, Bro. Jessie James Datulayta, Bro. Ivan Benidect Dadula, Bro. Edward Roben Cañeba, and Bro. Stephen Berdos).

A creative rosary followed with the following intentions offered: for the eradication of Covid-19; for the safety and protection from the current typhoon Rolly; for the increase of religious vocation; for the intentions of the government and church leaders, especially for Pope Francis. After each decade, there were Marian songs that were sung by Bro. Armel Collantes, SMM (Mary Queen of All Hearts), Bro. John Michael Uy, SMM (The Memorare), and Bro. Christopher Mejia, SMM (Salamat Maria – Thank you Mary). Other songs included were Sa’Yo Lamang (In You alone) and Sa Pamamagitan Mo (Through You), composed by Fr. Reynaldo Bullas Jr., SMM.

In the second part of the program, the children of Sis. Gelly Fernandez, a member of the Association of Mary Queen of All Hearts, played a very good rendition of the songs: Ang Puso Ko’y Nagpupuri (Magnificat) and Mariang Ina Ko (Mary, my mother). Sr. Soni Hermita, from the Daughters of St. Anne, also participated and sang the composition of Bro. Lester Bonete, SMM, “Ang Lahat ng Akin ay Sa Iyo” (All that I have is Yours).

The pandemic did not stop the scholasticate and collegian communities to honor Mary with their songs and music. The prayers and praises to Mary became one as the people joined the Montfort Missionaries through the Facebook live streaming. Indeed, the event became successful through the hard work and dedication of everyone. Praise and Glory to God through the Blessed Virgin Mary.
