COPENHAGEN, Denmark - As part of the Jubilee Year of Hope, a new phase of the missionary visit to Denmark, led by Father Marco PASINATO, SMM, took place from September 27 to October 7, 2025. This initiative follows last May's mission and is part of the process leading up to the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the arrival of the Montfort Missionaries in Denmark (1901).

Warmly welcomed by the Bishop of Copenhagen, Msgr. Ceslaw KOZON, Fr. Marco spent his first days in the capital meeting with the Italian Catholic community at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the youth group of the CAYAC (Catholic Association of Young Adult in Copenhagen), led by the Jesuits at the Church of St. Augustine. The young people's interest in Montfortian spirituality and the proposal of consecration to Jesus through Mary was remarkable: some of them have already decided to undertake the 33-day preparation.

During the week, the missionary was welcomed to Sorø by Fr. Stephen Holm, who collaborates with the "Mary Queen of All Hearts" group and visited the parishes of Elsinør and Ringsted, where he led catechesis and formation sessions. Over the weekend, with Father Josip MAGDIĆ, SMM, he continued the preaching program begun in the spring in Copenhagen and Slagelse.

The visit concluded with the monthly meeting of the Montfort Associates of Sorø, connected online to the Rosarium Montfort EurHope.

In a country where Catholics number around 40,000, but only a small proportion regularly participate in liturgical life, the Montfort presence remains a precious source of hope. Bishop Kozon reiterated his hope for the permanent return of the Montfort Missionaries, to provide pastoral service in a parish and promote Marian evangelization. In 2026, a celebration of the Montfortian consecration is planned, preceded by 33 days of online preparation and a pilgrimage to the church of Slagelse, where the statue of Mary, Queen of Hearts, is venerated.

This mission in the North represents an encouraging sign for the Montfortians, especially the younger generation, who are called to rediscover the itinerant and missionary dimension of their charism, where hope awaits rekindling.
