MULOT, Kenya - On Sunday, the 16th of November 2025, Montfort lay associates from Nairobi Kenya, visited the Christians of Mulot, Kenya, where Frs. Horrice MKANDAWIRE SMM and Amos MAKINA, SMM are working.
The reason for the visit was to enhance the spirituality of Saint Montfort among the laity of Mulot, to promote Montfortian vocations at this parish, but also to greet their spiritual fathers and know how they are faring in their grassroot mission.
When they arrived, they were warmly welcomed by the Christians, who felt privileged by the visit. The Holy Mass at the parish was led by Fr. Amos, who encouraged Christians generally to be hard working, and never to lose focus on working for God.
As part of spreading the Montfortian spirituality practically, the lay associates brought statues of the blessed virgin Mary, the altar crosses, uncountable number of rosaries and some household items for their priests. The chair of the group, Mr George Montfort NDINIKA, encouraged the Christians to pray the rosary and ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to accompany them in their journey of faith. An emphasis was also placed, that all the Christians who do not have rosaries, should make sure that they get one from them, when Mass was over. After the Mass, the group met with the young Christian workers, as well as the youth group of the parish. Brother Anthony SMM who accompanied the lay from Nairobi, talked convincingly about the process of vocation discernment, and what it takes for one to join the company of Mary, the Montfort brothers, and the sisters of the Daughters of Wisdom. The youths appreciated such a remarkable input, and some promised to join our congregation soon.
In his appreciation, Mr Zacharia CHEPCHILAT, the parish chairman thanked the lay associates for the generosity shown in buying and distributing sacramentals of Marian spirituality at mulot parish. He promised to be praying for them and to guard the input about the Marian spirituality given.
After the Holy Mass, Fr. Horrice, Fr. Amos and the group of the lay had a brief meeting. The lay appreciated the good work which the Montfortians are doing in Mulot, including spiritually directing Christians of the community around at the shrine. Similarly, Frs. Horrice and Amos, thanked the group for the wonderful visit, which not only does it show the unity in the Montfortian family, but also shows efforts which are there to making sure that our spirituality is felt far and wide.
After having a prayer, the Montfort Lay Associates left for Nairobi, a 3 and half hour's journey from Mulot.
