Retreat Days on Montfortian Spirituality in Norway
[FR]
BERGEN, Norway - From 5 to 10 May 2026, The “Mary, Queen of All Hearts” Association at St. Paul Parish had the joy of welcoming Fr. Marco Pasinato, SMM, General Vicar of the Montfort Missionaries, for a series of retreat days on Montfortian spirituality and Total Consecration.
Over four consecutive afternoons, between twenty and thirty participants of various nationalities gathered to listen, reflect, and pray together. Fr. Marco offered inspiring conferences centered on the following themes:
1. Living the Montfortian Consecration Today
2. The Holy Spirit and Mary in the Context of Total Consecration
3. How Mary Cares for Our Baptismal Vocation
4. The Role of Mother Mary in Our Missionary Commitment
The talks offered a profound reflection on what it means to welcome Mary as Mother, Model, and Formator in the Christian life. Participants were invited to rediscover Mary’s mission of sanctifying believers by leading them ever more deeply into conformity with Jesus Christ. Through baptism, Christ already lives within us, and Mary, the “perfect living mould” described by Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort, helps form true disciples when we remain docile to her guidance and to the action of the Holy Spirit who filled her completely.
Fr. Marco highlighted two important images used by Montfort to describe Mary. First, Mary as the tree that bears the fruit of Jesus Christ, a tree that Christians are called to cultivate in their lives. Second, Mary as the holy magnet who draws Jesus to souls.
The retreat also emphasized Mary’s role as Mediatrix, helping believers become apostles of Christ through consecration to her, so that Christ may reign in hearts for the glory of God. Participants were encouraged to cultivate a daily spiritual discipline of living “through, with, in, and for Mary.”
The reflections were enriched by the praying of the Rosary and the daily celebration of the Holy Mass, allowing participants to experience more deeply the harmony between faith and prayer — lex credendi, lex orandi.
The retreat concluded in a spirit of joy and fraternity with a social gathering at the home of Reidun Jofrid Kleppestrand. Participants shared a delicious meal together, accompanied by spiritual sharing, prayer, and songs in different languages, reflecting the international character of the group and the unity created through Marian spirituality.
The community expressed deep gratitude to God for these days of grace and prayed that the seeds planted during the retreat may continue to grow and bear fruit.
