Shanthinagar parish in India organizes free medical camp

SHANTHINAGAR, India - Health is wealth is the slogan of the land. By the grace of God and the intercession of St. Louis De Montfort, Shanthinagar parish was fortunate to organize a Free Medical Camp in the campus embarking the words of Pope Francis “Hope doesn’t disappoint” looking towards Christ the true healer.
With the unwavering support Canossa Sisters' along with the collaboration of diocese social service society a free medical camp was conducted on 17-02-2025 in the presence of the bishop and the Vicar General of Srikakulam diocese and efficient doctors. This altruistic initiative aimed to provide essential medical services to the impoverished tribal community residing in the surroundings.
The medical camp proved to be a beacon of hope for numerous underprivileged individuals who struggle to access quality healthcare due to financial constraints. A team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and paramedics selflessly volunteered their time and expertise to examine patients, diagnose ailments, and provide necessary treatment for approximately 400 patients turned out from 52 villages.
The medical camp offered an array of services, including: General health check-ups, diagnostic tests, free cancer screening for women, dental check-ups and treatment, Distribution of free medicines, and health education and counseling
The initiative was met with an overwhelming response, with numerous patients benefiting from the services provided. Many were diagnosed with chronic ailments, such as hypertension, diabetes, and respiratory infections, cancer ailments and were provided with necessary medication and guidance on managing their conditions.
We extend our sincerest gratitude to the Canossa Sisters for their unwavering support in making this initiative a reality. Their selfless commitment to serving the marginalized communities is truly commendable. We also appreciate the tireless efforts of our medical team, volunteers, and organizers who worked in tandem to ensure the success of this camp.
