To Jesus through Mary in Madagascar

TAMATAVE, Madagascar - On Monday, June 9, 2025, during the Eucharistic celebration of the Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church, the Montfortian Associates (AMRC or FMM: Fangavagna Montfôrtanina Malagasy) of the city's three Montfortian parishes renewed their baptismal promises.

After attending the Montfort Month session, initiated by Father de Montfort, with the National Director, Fr. Jean-Claude RAMANDRAIVONONA, SMM, 10 associate members made their first Consecration to Jesus through Mary, 24 members renewed their Consecration, and one member was officially received into the Association. The themes discussed primarily concerned the role of Mary in the lives of the baptized, with references drawn from the Holy Scriptures and the Treatise on True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin. In this case, the choice we make to be cast into the mold, which is Mary (forma Dei), to be formed and molded in her: "... The mold fit for forming and molding gods. He who is cast into this divine mold is soon formed into Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ in him: at little cost and in a short time, he will become a god, since he is cast into the same mold that formed a God." (VD 219).

This Consecration, pronounced on the Solemnity of Pentecost and on the day when Mary, like the Apostles, received the Holy Spirit, marking the birth of the Church, has a particular significance if we refer to Father de Montfort's Fiery Prayer in which he asks for Apostles who fly in all directions according to the breath of the Holy Spirit (Cf.
