BENGALURU, India - The Montfort Marian Centre joyfully welcomed twenty-two newly consecrated lay faithful into the Montfort Lay Association. Fr. Amalraj SMM, Parish Priest of St. Benedict’s Parish, prayerfully prepared them for this sacred journey beginning in January 2026. Bro. John XAVIER SG, a Montfort Brother of St. Gabriel, generously assisted in the formation by offering catechetical instruction to the group.

On 27 April 2026, Fr. Alexander SMM, Director of the Montfort Marian Centre and Director of the Montfort Lay Associates in India, guided the candidates through the final stage of preparation. He conducted Eucharistic Adoration and heard their confessions in view of their Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary. This spiritual preparation beautifully reflected the teaching of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort: “The more one is consecrated to Mary, the more one is consecrated to Jesus.”

On 28 April 2026, the Parish Church of St. Benedict became the setting for a truly solemn and grace-filled celebration. The Holy Eucharist was solemnly celebrated by Fr. Alexander SMM, who preached on the privileges and responsibilities of consecrating oneself totally to Jesus through Mary according to the spirituality of St. Montfort. In his homily, he reminded the faithful that true devotion to Mary always leads to a deeper union with Christ, echoing the famous Montfort motto: “Totus Tuus ego sum, et omnia mea tua sunt” — “I am all yours, and all that I have is yours.”

The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Michael Sagayaraj SMM, former Provincial, together with Fr. Amalraj SMM, the Parish Priest. The solemn occasion was attended by Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel from neighboring communities, as well as religious sisters and faithful from nearby parishes, making the celebration a visible sign of ecclesial communion and Marian fraternity.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, a festive meal was served to all the participants and parishioners. The newly consecrated members were presented with certificates commemorating their Total Consecration, and they solemnly signed the register as a visible expression of their lifelong commitment to Jesus through Mary in the spirit and footsteps of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort. Each participant also received a souvenir in appreciation of their courageous and faith-filled response to God’s call.

All the newly consecrated faithful wore chains blessed by Fr. Amalraj as a sign of their loving “Holy Slavery” to Jesus through Mary — a spirituality deeply cherished by St. Montfort, who wrote: “There is no better way of coming to Jesus than through Mary.” The celebration concluded with hearts filled with gratitude, joy, and renewed zeal to live faithfully as disciples of Christ under the maternal guidance of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
