AFA Workshop in Malawi Ends at High Note
MANGOCHI, Malawi – “It is good to be here!” These were the sentiments of every confrere who attended the workshop that took place at Namiasi, Mangochi from 8th to 11th October, 2018. The theme of the Africa Anglophone Delegation workshop focused on Montfortian Style of Leadership.
Having furnished us with the well-articulated input on the heart and the head of the servant leader, the Assistant Superior General, Fr. Arnold Suhardi, SMM continued the good work by expounding on the legs and the hands of the servant leader. On the point of legs of the servant leader, the discussion was based on the significance of implementing the ideas and vision that a leader has. As for the hands of the servant leader, the point of discussion was on the behaviour of the effective leader which is revealed in the process of empowering people in order to achieve the goal.
On Thursday, 11th October, 2018, Fr. Arnold, SMM concluded the workshop on a high note with a discussion on the five habits of a servant leader: silence, prayer, learn and apply scripture, accepting and responding to God’s love and building mutually supportive relationships.
Representing all the confreres, Fr. Samuel Satiele, SMM thanked Fr. Arnold, SMM for journeying with us through the workshop.
“You have been one of us throughout the workshop and this was noted in the way you spoke to us. At the beginning of almost every sentence you said my confreres”, expressed Fr. Samuel, SMM.
On his part, the Assistant Superior General, expressed that he was very delighted to have been given an opportunity to lead in this workshop. And he stated that he felt a sense of belonging throughout the workshop.
After the workshop, a delegation meeting followed. Later in the evening, there was a dinner.
