SMM Indonesia welcomes 22 New Postulants
FLORES, Indonesia – On July 21, 2020, at the Montfort Novitiate in Labe, Ruteng, Flores, Indonesia, 22 new postulants were welcomed in a simple celebration of evening prayer. The celebration was presided by Fr. Kristianus Jumi Ngampu, SMM, the Postulant Director. This celebration marks the beginning of their postulancy.
In his short reflection, Fr. Tian told the newcomers to really commit themselves in this process of knowing more the life of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort and his Spirituality, and to know better how the Montfort Missionaries live the mission and the community life as well. “Don’t be afraid in living this process of coming and seeing, as they have asked me before! You are not alone. There are formators and novices who will help you to grow in your discernment of choice,” said Fr. Tian, quoting the Gospel of John (1:39).
The new postulants come from some minor seminaries in Flores and also from our Aspirancy House in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai. They are all in good health after living their two-week quarantine in accordance with the health protocol during this COVID-19 pandemic. They are going to start with the program of rereading their History of Life, etc.
