SMM Philippine Delegation Assembly
QUEZON
CITY, Philippines - Inspired by the retreat held on
November 05-09, 2018, the professed members of the Montfort Missionaries –
Philippine Delegation had their two-day assembly on November 12-13, 2018 at the
Delegation House, 9th St., New Manila, Quezon city.
The assembly began with an
opening Mass presided by Fr. Richard Magararu, the outgoing Delegation
Superior. During the Mass, he officially welcomed Fr. Marco, one of the general
councilors.
After the Mass, the sessions
started with Fr. Benjie Notarte as the moderator. The focus was on the VMG of
each community; formation and mission communities.
The representatives of each
community shared the developments for the last three years, mentioning the
strengths and weaknesses.
The most awaited part of the
day was the announcement of Fr. Marco of the new administration. Fr. Norwyn
Baydo is the new Delegation Superior, and the Councilors are Fr. Paul Arnel
Lucero and Fr. Santiago Casing.
The day was concluded with the
praying of the rosary, followed by dinner.
The following day was spent on
the sharing of Fr. Marco about the agenda of the General Administration. He
gave a historical background on how the congregation started and flourished,
starting from Europe to the different parts of the world. With the decreasing
number of confreres in old entities, the young entities are being challenged to
do something to keep the Montfortian Spirit alive. Fr. Marco was eager to
listen to the reactions of the Filipino confreres regarding this matter.
In the afternoon, the old
council, together with the new council had a meeting with Fr. Marco. After the
joint meeting, the new council had their first meeting.
Then, everyone proceeded to the
Montfort Center of Spirituality in South Triangle for the installation of the
new administration.
