OTTAWA, Canada - The snow and wind calmed just in time for us to celebrate the Immaculate Conception. About a hundred people came to Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church in Ottawa for this Mass on Monday, December 9, 2024.
After his homily, Mgr. Gilles CÔTÉ, SMM, Montfort Father, unveiled and blessed a sheet of metal which commemorates the establishment of the Brotherhood of Mary Queen of Hearts, 125 years ago in our parish church by the archbishop of the time, Mgr. Duhamel, on March 25, 1899, fulfilling the wish that Saint Louis de Montfort expresses in number 227 of the Treatise on the True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin.
Furthermore, a group of 6 women and men made their Montfortian consecration at the foot of the Statue of Mary Queen of Hearts, accompanied by those who had already done so. We then went, torches in hand, to pray outside in front of the Grotto of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes in Vanier. The wind sometimes extinguished our flames, but we rekindled each other and left joyful celebrating our Mother.
