SOUTHAMPTON, England - The Montfort Missionaries in the United Kingdom invited the faithful to a special day of reflection, prayer, and renewal, held at St Joseph’s Centre (16 Lyndhurst Road, Ashurst, SO40 7DU) on Thursday, May 29. This initiative was open to all: those who have already made the Consecration to Jesus through Mary, those considering making it in the future, or those simply wishing to learn more about Montfortian spirituality and the rich Marian tradition taught by Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort.
A special invitation was shared by our lay associates in various parishes in Southampton and London, in order to conclude the Month of Mary during this Jubilee Year in a deep and fruitful way, with the call: “Come and experience the grace of entrusting your life to Jesus through the hands of Mary.” Everyone was welcome! Around fifty people responded with enthusiasm to the rich program of the day:
- 3:00 PM – Meditated Rosary, led by Montfortian lay associates from London and Fr. Richard MAGARARU, SMM, who also led a procession in the park starting from the Lourdes grotto.
- 3:30 PM – Catechesis on Montfortian Marian Spirituality, offered by Fr. Marco PASINATO, SMM. This session was met with great interest, as many participants engaged with questions and shared their reflections.
- 4:30 PM – Coffee break and fellowship
- 5:30 PM – Holy Mass, led by the choir from the local parish of St Boniface and presided over by Fr. Kieran FLYNN, SMM, who invited those present to join the “Mary Queen of All Hearts” Association at the end of the celebration.
- 5:45 PM – Rite of Renewal of the Consecration, prepared by Fr. Richard MAGARARU, SMM. Some participants who had completed the 33-day preparation made their consecration for the first time before the statue of “Mary Queen of All Hearts” at the entrance of the house.
The day concluded with a delightful buffet, during which all participants expressed their joy for this beautiful experience, which is intended to mark a new beginning in spreading Montfortian spirituality. Registrations were collected for the next step—a formation program planned for the autumn, possibly with the presence of the Superior General of the Montfort Missionaries.
