BUSHENYI, Uganda - Members of the Company of Mary working in the East Africa under the Anglophone Africa General Delegation held their annual retreat in Bushenyi, Uganda. All members convened at the newly constructed retreat house of the White Fathers in Bushenyi. The retreat was well attended by confreres from the communities serving in Uganda and Kenya.
The theme of the retreat was hinged on reaffirming of the religious and priestly identity. It was facilitated by Fr. Arnold NAMAYAMBE, a member of the Holy Cross Missionaries serving in Kampala, Uganda.
It was indeed a rejuvenating experience for the confreres working in East Africa as it provided a much needed time for reflection. It was a moment of spiritual renewal and delving into the cores of religious identity in the different missions which the members are serving.
At the end of the retreat, Fr. Jacob Ombidi OTIENO, SMM, the Superior delegate of the entity, thanked the members for “leaving everything and coming to the desert to pray and listen to what God is speaking to them”. He encouraged all the members to keep the zeal irrespective of the challenges met in the different apostolates in which each is serving.
The retreat which began on Sunday, the 10th of November 2024 was concluded on Saturday, the 16th of November 2024. The members returned to their communities joyous like the Apostles.
