EurHope26 - Day 3: Prayer, Dialogue, and Pilgrimage
[FR]
ROME, Italy – The third day of the Montfort European Assembly commenced in an atmosphere of prayer and reflection as participants gathered to entrust the day's activities to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Hope. Through this prayer, the confreres sought her guidance and intercession, asking her to accompany them and teach them how to proclaim the Eternal Incarnate Wisdom in today's world.
The morning was dedicated to dialogue and discernment through group discussions. To facilitate meaningful exchanges, participants were divided into two groups. One group brought together the younger confreres, providing them with an opportunity to share their experiences, challenges, and aspirations for the future of the Montfortian mission. The second group consisted of the superiors of the various European entities, who focused on matters concerning leadership, collaboration, and the strengthening of the congregation's presence across Europe.
These discussions fostered a spirit of fraternity and mutual listening, enabling participants to reflect on the realities of their respective communities while exploring common paths for mission and evangelization.
In the afternoon, the assembly participants embarked on a pilgrimage following in the footsteps of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort in Rome. This journey offered a deeper appreciation of the saint's spiritual heritage and missionary zeal, inspiring the confreres to renew their commitment to the Montfortian charism.
The day concluded with the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Church of San Biagio della Pagnotta, where Montfort himself celebrated on 4th June 1706, presided by Fr. Angelo SORTI, SMM assisted by 3 new ordained Montfortian priests of Italian Province. Gathered around the Eucharistic table, the participants gave thanks for the blessings of the assembly and prayed for the continued guidance of the Holy Spirit as they move forward in their deliberations and shared mission.
