Feast of Father de Montfort and Blessed Marie-Louise of Jesus in Montreal

CANADA, Montreal – There was an air of celebration and rejoicing on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Shrine of Mary Queen of Hearts Shrine in Montreal.
Indeed, between the Feasts of Father de Montfort, on April 28, and of Blessed Marie-Louise of Jesus, on May 7, the Montfort Fathers at the Shrine and their associates welcomed with joy the Montfort Family composed of the Congregations of the Daughters of Wisdom, the Brothers of Saint Gabriel, the Friend of Wisdom, and the associates of Ottawa.
As the Shrine is a Jubilee site, we began the day with the Jubilee Path, led by Father Freda ONJATIANA, s.m.m., allowing those who so desired to obtain the grace of plenary indulgence.
Following a time of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and confessions, a prayerful and fraternal Mass in honor of the two Founders took place, presided over by Father Louis-Paul SAINT-LAURENT, s.m.m., joined by about ten concelebrants, including the Brothers of Saint Gabriel and the Montfortian Fathers of the Shrine.
At the beginning of this celebration, they entered in procession, along with the ministers, singing with the faithful: O Saint Montfort, friend of God...
In his homily, Father Louis-Paul SAINT-LAURENT, s.m.m. He spoke of the fundamental commitment of Father de Montfort and Blessed Marie-Louise of Jesus to the poor and the sick. He also explained that our imperfections become a treasure, because they allow the Lord, by reaching out to us, to transform them into light.
The judicious choice of songs and the beauty of the organ music enriched and honored the charism of each of the Founders and fostered a joyful atmosphere!
After receiving the Bread of the Word and the Eucharist, the meeting continued with a convivial and friendly dinner during which the guests shared ideas to get to know each other better.
At the end of the meal, a spokesperson from each group informed us about their organization, the successes and challenges they face. It was a very informative moment! Enriched by the presence and experience of each participant, we left with our hearts filled with the dynamism of our Founders, Father de Montfort and Blessed Marie-Louise of Jesus, convinced to continue our mission as Pilgrims of Hope wherever we are, supported by the Virgin Mary and confident in the Providence of God!
