FIM 2026 – Beginning to Appreciate The Love of Eternal Wisdom
[FR]
ROME, Italy - The third day of FIM 2026 began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr. Anton TENSI SMM. The day also marked the birthday of Brother Dionigi TAFFARELLO, SG, Superior General of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel. The Holy Mass and the prayers of the entire community were offered for him and his intentions, invoking God’s abundant blessings upon his life and ministry. The joyful occasion continued with a festive and sumptuous lunch organized in his honor, fostering fraternity and thanksgiving among all the participants.
The formation sessions of the day introduced the participants to one of the spiritual masterpieces of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort — The Love of Eternal Wisdom (LEW). Sr. Marie Reine DW served as the resource person and skilfully guided the participants into the richness and contemporary relevance of this profound work of St. Montfort.
She began the sessions by posing thought-provoking questions to the participants: What challenges us when we read LEW? What surprises us in the text? How is this work relevant in today’s world? These questions opened the way for meaningful reflection, active participation, and lively discussion among the participants. The sessions encouraged everyone not merely to study the text intellectually, but to encounter Wisdom as a living spiritual reality.
Sr. Marie Reine also divided the participants into groups for discussion and sharing. Each group reflected deeply on the themes presented and later shared the fruits of their interaction with the larger assembly. The sessions created an atmosphere of attentive listening, mutual enrichment, and sincere spiritual seeking.
The day was beautifully balanced between joyful fraternity and serious intellectual-spiritual formation. In the spirit of St. Montfort, the participants were reminded that Eternal Wisdom is not merely a concept to be studied, but a Person to be loved and followed. As St. Montfort beautifully writes: “Wisdom is more necessary to man than breath itself.” The sessions thus inspired the participants to deepen their desire for Divine Wisdom in their personal and apostolic lives.
Fr. Alexander SWAMY, SMM
