SANTERAMO IN COLLE, Italy - On Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the parish church of Santeramo in Colle (Bari), at the end of his novitiate year, Ivan BERKIĆ made his first religious profession.

The Eucharist was presided over by the Provincial Superior, Father Angelo SORTI and concelebrated with him by the confreres of the Montfortian communities of Santeramo in Colle (Bari) and Ginosa (Taranto).

In the hands of the Provincial Superior, Ivan made vow of poverty, chastity, and obedience, in accordance to the Constitutions of the Company of Mary. Ivan thus joyfully chose to follow Jesus Christ more closely, the eternal and incarnate Wisdom, committing himself to belonging only to the Lord and faithfully living the one rule, the Gospel, according to the charism of the Montfortian missionaries.

Ivan's family, who had come from Croatia, and many friends from the parishes of Santeramo in Colle gathered around him. They joined their voices with that of the Virgin Mary in praising the Lord's love for the gift of Ivan's call to religious life and for his generous response.

After the celebration, everyone gathered in the novitiate garden to share the joy of the day fraternally.

Ivan then left for Rome to join the Scholasticate community, where he will have the opportunity to live out his profession and continue his formation in preparation for perpetual profession and the priesthood.
