First Saturday of the Month Retreat: Immaculate Heart of Mary
MINAS GERAIS, Brazil - On April 2, 2022, the Montfortian Spirituality Center in Brazil promoted the retreat for consecrated persons and other people. We started the retreat at 9 am with a moment of praise and then the Office of Our Lady.
At 9:30 am, Fr. Jesu DOSS, SMM shared a brief reflection on the Treaty of True Devotion, No. 258: "Those who allow themselves to be guided by the Spirit of Mary are children of Mary". He highlighted the three attitudes of a true child of Mary. First, a true child of Mary must renounce everything that does not please Jesus and Our Lady. Second, a true child of Mary must abandon himself to Our Lady and let Mary's spirit envelop and shape him. Finally, a true child of Mary must renew and live his Total Consecration every day: "I am all yours, and all that I have is yours, my lovely Jesus, through Mary, your Holy Mother".
After reflection, we had a shared snack (each person brought some food to share). At 10:30 am, we began the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We prayed the Holy Rosary while the Confessions took place. At 11:30 am, we celebrated the Holy Mass in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
During the homily, Fr. Jesu DOSS shared the experience of Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort with the poor in Dinan, thus making an appeal to everyone "Open to Jesus Christ" and that our Consecration help us to be attentive to the sufferings of the needy.
Finally, with thanks to everyone, we ended the retreat with a photo opportunity, with the participation of 135 people from different parishes.
