MALAWI: Rt. Rev. Thomas Luke Msusa Appointed as Arcbishop of Blantyre
The Apostolic Nunciature (Vatican Embassy) in Malawi announced that "His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Right Reverend Thomas Luke Msusa as Archbishop of Blantyre, transferring him from the Episcopal See of Zomba." The announcement was made on Thursday, 21 November 2013 at noontime at Vatican City, Rome. Rt. Rev. Thomas Msusa was born on February 2, 1962 and was ordained priest in the Company of Mary (Montfort Missionaries) on August 3, 1996. He was appointed bishop of Zomba on December 19, 2003 and took possession of the episcopal see of Zomba on April 17, 2004. He will be installed as archbishop of Blantyre on the 28th of February 2014. On related topic, the Auxilliary Bishop of Blantyre archdiocese, Montfort Stima, who is also the Diocesan Administrator has been appointed by the Holy Father on the 6th of December, 2013 as Bishop of Mangochi diocese.
