Pilgrims from Hong Kong visit the "Totus Tuus Center”
MEDJUGORJE, Bosnia and Herzegovina - This morning, at our “Totus Tuus Center” in Medjugorje, we had the joy of welcoming a group of Chinese pilgrims from Hong Kong. The atmosphere was filled with curiosity, and at the same time, a thought crossed our minds: "Will we be able to communicate with them? Our English is rather simple" And although the presence of their guide gave us a sense of relief, the real surprise was discovering that the language barrier could be overcome through the language of the heart.
Thus, with great astonishment, we learned that the Chinese pilgrims are also familiar with the figure of Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort and that some of them had already embarked on the path of Consecration, after 33 days of preparation. This deeply touched us, making us feel part of a larger community, united in the same ideal of faith and devotion. When they discovered, with amazement, the presence of a Montfort’s relic in our Chapel, their faces lit up with gratitude. They welcomed us with deep bows and warm embraces, gestures of affection that transcended words.
After this encounter, we celebrated Holy Mass in Cantonese; a sacred moment that united the hearts of all present, in which cultural differences dissolved in the harmony of the same faith. This encounter, which at first glance might have seemed like many others, instead left a profound impression on us. The joy of sharing our common Creed made us realize that Saint Louis-Marie, together with the Blessed Virgin, Mother of the Church, works tirelessly to prepare the apostles of these times, spreading the message of love and hope throughout the world.
This meeting was a deeply spiritually enriching experience, reminding us that the spirituality of Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort, with his invitation to deep devotion to Our Lady, extends beyond all borders, touching the hearts of people of different cultures and nations, showing us how love and faith can unite souls in a communion that transcends linguistic and cultural barriers. It is a sign that, in such a diverse world, the light of Christ and Mary continues to shine, calling to it all men and women of good will.
