Recollection for the Montfort Associates in India
[FR]
BANGALORE, India - A half-day retreat, in celebration of the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was organized on 15 September 2024 by the Marian Centre for the Montfort Associates at Maria Bhavan, Bangalore, India. A group of devoted followers of our Founder, along with their families, gathered for a day of recollection and spiritual renewal in the presence of the Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Fr. Alex SMM, Director of the Marian Centre, delivered a thought-provoking sermon on “The Language of Love.” The group participated with great enthusiasm, attentiveness, and active involvement in the day’s events.
Following a warm welcome accompanied by tea, Fr. Alex introduced the theme of the retreat, engaging the group in meaningful dialogue and fostering an interactive atmosphere. After the talk, the group celebrated the Eucharist, with the homily focusing on the ten virtues of Mary, as taught by St. Louis de Montfort.
The Associates then prayed the Holy Rosary in four languages: English, Kannada, Konkani, and Tamil. Each “Hail Mary” was dedicated to a specific intention, resulting in 53 different intentions being prayed for, including the well-being of the Montfortian family in India and across the world. During the Rosary, the names of individuals present were mentioned, and each person was prayed for with devotion.
Following the multilingual Rosary, the group honored the Blessed Virgin Mary in a traditional manner, showering her statue with flower petals while singing hymns in her praise. A colourful rosary, bearing all 53 written intentions, was placed around the statue of the Blessed Virgin. The gathering concluded with a fraternal meal, graciously prepared by the Scholasticate community at Maria Bhavan.
The retreat was a deeply meaningful experience, and the participants departed with hearts filled with joy and spiritual renewal.
