Renewal of Consecration in Malawi

NANTIPWIRI, Malawi - Christmas celebration for 2024 had double blessings for the lay Associates in Bvumbwe Parish, Blantyre archdiocese. They renewed their consecration to Jesus through the Blessed Virgin Mary on 26th December 2024, a day after Christmas. The renewal of the Consecration started with a two-hour recollection facilitated by Fr. Petro CHILUMPHA, SMM the parish priest of Ugandan martyrs known as Bvumbwe parish.

During the recollection Fr. Petro, emphasized that consecration is based on the sacrament of baptism and every individual who wants to concentrate themselves to Jesus through Mary must first be willing, totally submitted to Jesus, joyful consecrate themselves and accept God’s gift, Jesus through Mary. He further said that the consecration must make the lay associates reflect on Jesus through him, with him and in him. He went on to say that consecration is a smooth, short, sure and perfect way to Jesus. It is perfect and sure because Jesus used it to come to the world and thereafter, we use the same to go to Him. He highlighted to say these consecrated to Jesus though the hands of Mary do all things through Mary, with Mary, in Mary and for Mary in order to do the more perfectly through Jesus with Jesus, in Jesus and for Jesus.

The recollection was followed by Eucharistic celebration where eight members renewed their consecration to Jesus through the Blessed Virgin Mary: Mr. MPHAMBA, Mr. CHISUSE, Mr. CHINYAMA, Mr. CHIKWENGA, Mr. KATIKO, Mrs. CHAPWETEKA, Mrs. MAELE, and Blessings KAPINDA. After the Eucharistic celebration, there was a beautiful luncheon with our priest.
