The Superior General visits Anglophone Africa Delegation

LILONGWE, Malawi - From the 21^st of September to the 5^th of October, the superior general of the Montfort Missionaries, Fr. Yoseph Putra Dwi Darma WATUN, SMM visited the Malawi one of the countries composing the General Delegation of Anglophone Africa. This was the first journey to the entity for Fr.  Dwi since he assumed office as the Superior general.  

The main purpose of the journey was to join the members of the entity in their Delegation assembly which took place from the 23^rd to the 27^th of September. The superior general had an opportunity to interact with most of the confreres in the entity who were present for the assembly.

The superior general also took time after the assembly to visit the communities in Malawi. He was able to visit all the communities including the provincial house for the Daughters of Wisdom in Lunzu and the community of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel in Zomba. The key highlight of the visit to the communities was his journey to Chisi Island, one of the outstations of Sitima parish in Zomba Diocese. He became the first superior general to visit the area that is isolated by lake Chisi and takes more than 2 hours on the canoe to reach. He failed to visit the missions in Zambia because he could not get the visa in time even after applying in good time.  

The Superior general was grateful for the work that that the confreres are doing in the entity despite the many challenges and obstacles. He encouraged the members of the entity to continues working with zeal in the missions in the spirit of collaboration and Synodality.

Fr. Dwi was accompanied on his journey by Fr. Lonely Paul MASHONGA SMM, the assistant general responsible for Africa and Madagascar, North America and Canada and Fr. Jacob OTIENO SMM, the superior delegate for the Africa Anglophone delegation.
