United in hope for the future of the mission in Europe
GENERAL CURIA, Rome - The annual Zoom meeting of the JME (Young Montfortians in Europe) group took place on October 20, 2025, in a fraternal and listening atmosphere. With more than twenty confreres from various European countries in attendance, the meeting was coordinated by Fr. Marco PASINATO, SMM, with simultaneous translation provided to ensure full participation.
A beginning inspired by the Jubilee of the Young Montfortians (MJ25). The meeting opened at 2:30 pm with a moment of prayer accompanied by a moving video of the recently celebrated Jubilee of the Young Montfortians 2025. Following this, six new members of the group briefly introduced themselves, marking a further step towards inclusivity and generational renewal in the mission.
Sharing of the MJ25 experience and testimony from Fr. Santino BREMBILLA. Father Jailos MPINA, SMM, offered a rich sharing on the positive impact of the MJ25, highlighting the enthusiasm and motivation generated among the participants. Particularly moving was the testimony of Father Santino BREMBILLA, SMM, entitled: "Missionaries at the Service of Hope in Europe Today." A missionary journey marked by challenges and hopes, culminating in his current mission in Pontchâteau (France). His words encouraged everyone to look to the future with confidence, continuing to bear witness to the Montfortian charism in contemporary European contexts.
Three proposals for 2026: pilgrimage, assembly, formation. In the second part of the meeting, Father Marco presented three important events planned for the JME Project 2024–2029:
1. Montfortian March (May 31–June 5, 2026). A pilgrimage from Loreto to Assisi to Rome, in the footsteps of St. Louis Marie de Montfort. The initiative, designed with a youthful and dynamic approach, aims to revive the Founder's experience in Italy. The French organizing team will soon open registration.
2. Continental Assembly "EurHope26" (June 8–11, 2026, Rome). This in-person meeting was requested by the General Council for Missionaries of Europe. The program will be finalized in the coming weeks. Registration will be coordinated by the Superiors of the respective entities.
3. Next JME Zoom Meeting (October 19, 2026). The online meeting has been confirmed from 2:30 to 4:30 pm, with the theme: "The Montfortian Gift of Touching Hearts," led by Fr. Arnold SUHARDI, SMM.
After a time for questions and feedback, the meeting concluded with a prayer to Mary, Mother of Hope, renewing the shared commitment to journey as missionaries full of faith, creativity, and courage in the heart of Europe.
