Witness to the love of Jesus Good Shepherd

TOLEDO, Spain - Last Wednesday, April 26, at the San Ildefonso Major Seminary of the Archdiocese of Toledo, Spain, the official presentation of the relics of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort took place for the public veneration of the seminarians of this community in their period of formation to the priesthood.

The community of the Seminary, with 71 major seminarians, celebrated the vespers prayer presided over by the Rector of the Seminary, Fr. Álvaro Garcia Paniagua. At the end of the Church prayer, Bro. Daniel BUSNEL, SMM handed over the relics to the Rector at the foot of the altar of the Major Chapel of the Seminary. These relics will remain at the foot of the image of the Immaculate Conception so that the semiarians can ask for her intercession each evening while bidding farewell to the Virgin. After this liturgical moment, we all shared the fraternal meal in an atmosphere of joy and gladness. At the end of the dinner, we were able to have a moment of meeting with Bro. Daniel who explained to us the life, the work and the spirituality of Saint Louis-Marie to the seminarians who are formed here.

From the Seminary, we would like to thank the whole family of Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort (Montfortian Family) for sharing such a great gift with this humble community. We want Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort to be for every seminarian an example and an intercessor for the characteristics that stand out in his holiness: to be a great pastor, his heart burned in the pastoral charity of Christ; to be madly in love with Jesus through Mary. We too want to be slaves of Mary out of love for Jesus, and to be a great missionary: his life of dedication to the service of faith and the salvation of souls; we want it is the truth of our vocation and the way to live the vocation that the Lord has given us. For this gift so great for us, we give thanks to God and we commit ourselves to pray for this whole great family.
