Canonical visit to the Dutch Vice-Province

VROENHOF, The Netherlands - In the week before Pentecost (June 2-7, 2025), Superior-General Dwi WATUN SMM and his councillor Marco PASINATO SMM visited the Dutch Vice-Province. The programme included looking back on the past four years and looking ahead to the next three years. The issues that have and will characterise these years are almost the same. They are for the benefit of the elderly confreres in Vroenhof monastery and the young confreres in Schimmert monastery. This split took place in January 2024.

For the next three years, the care for the elderly confreres in Vroenhof and the management of the monastery building will deserve all the attention of the new Board. The focus of the new Board for Schimmert will be on cooperating in the continuation of the ‘Montfortian Mission’ in the Netherlands. In the meantime, permission has been received from the General Board to renovate the monastery building of Schimmert and make it suitable for receiving groups. After consulting all confreres, the Superior-General was able to announce on June 3 which confreres make up the new Board: Peter DENNEMAN (Superior), Charles LETA (Vicar), Jan LATHOUWERS (Councillor and Bursar), Stefan MUSANAI (Councillor).
