Spiritual Exercises in Loreto
[FR] [IT]
LORETO – Italy. From 15 to 20 September, the spiritual exercises for the confreres of
the Italian Province took place in Loreto, in the house that was the
Montfortian scholasticate for thirty years and which today belongs to the
Salesians.
The retreat, led by Fr. Mario CARMINATI, priest of the diocese of
Bergamo, on the theme: "Servants of Christ according to the Epistle to
the Philippians". Asking ourselves about our identity in the light of
the Word of God means returning to a love story with Jesus Christ. Among the
recommendations of the retreat, the one that comes back to Benedict XVI:
"Do not let yourselves be carried away by haste, be with Christ" to
move from silences filled with yourselves to silence filled with God. The
retreat was attended by a Daughter of Wisdom and about fifteen confreres, among
whom were the scholastics and some members of the General Curia. On the first
day of the retreat, the scholastics renewed their religious vows during the
Eucharist presided over by the Provincial Fr. Angelo SORTI, SMM. A heavy rain
that accompanied almost all days of the retreat, did not prevent from going to
the “Santa Casa” for a visit and for a Eucharistic celebration presided over by
Mons Fabio DAL CIN, Archbishop of Loreto. Before the end of the year, a second
retreat is planned at “Villa Montfort” (Bergamo).
Marco PASINATO, SMM
