BANDUNG, Indonesia - That Saturday afternoon in Bandung seemed to hold a story that was not merely unfolding but also pulsing within the heart. Exactly on April 25, 2026, the atmosphere at the Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Boromeus became a space of encounter that was quiet yet full of meaning. It was not merely a Mass, but simultaneously a spiritual journey reaching its climax.

The day began in reflective silence. In the morning, the participants gathered at the SMM Monastery in Bandung, attending a brief retreat led by Father Lukas DIRMAN, SMM, which served as the initial gateway to something deeper. The words they heard were not merely teachings, but like seeds falling gently into the soil of the heart. Afterward, a simple share lunch bound them together as a community walking toward the same goal.

As evening approached, footsteps began to head toward the chapel. A dress rehearsal was held, not only to ensure the smooth running of the event, but also as a final practice before surrendering themselves completely. When the clock struck 5:00 PM, the bell rang—and the story began.

A total of 14 participants took their first step in the First Self-Consecration—coming from various cities: Jakarta, Purwakarta, and Bandung. Meanwhile, 10 other participants renewed the vows, reaffirming a commitment that stands the test of time.

However, for the 14 participants undergoing their First Act of Self-Consecration, that day was not just a starting point—but also as the fruit of a long journey. For 33 weeks, they faithfully walked the path of preparation, followed by 3 days of deepening True Devotion, a spiritual pilgrimage that began on June 22, 2025, and reached its peak on February 23, 2026.

The Mass was presided over by Father Antonius TENSI, SMM, assisted by Father Lukas, Father Marianus Nicandra CEHA, SMM, Father Nicolas Christiaan SCHNEIDERS, SMM, and Father Robertus Ludok KELORE, SMM. In every prayer and hymn, it was evident that this was not merely a liturgical celebration, but a living act of self-surrender—silent yet eloquent.

Amid the candlelight and the echoes of prayer, the participants stood on the threshold of something unseen yet real: a decision to offer themselves more completely. All participants arrived with steps of unwavering faith, and all returned home with renewed hearts.

When Mass ended, the atmosphere did not immediately disperse. The evening continued with a shared meal. Laughter, stories, and warmth flowed like a small stream after the rain—simple yet refreshing.

That day came to an end, but something had begun. Not merely an event that concluded in a single day, but a journey that had just found its direction.
