Movement of Mothers who pray for their children

JOÃO MONLEVADE, Brazil - On June 20, 2023, we began the preparation for the Total Consecration to Jesus Christ through the hands of Mary, Mother of Jesus and the Church, according to the method of Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort.

There was great expectation that afternoon in the church of Our Lady of the Conception, in João Monlevade, Minas Gerais, for the mothers who are members of the Our Lady of the Conception Group - Movement of Mothers who pray for their children, as well as for the formator, Father Jesu DOSS, SMM, who proposed with great affection to carry out this mission with mothers and led them to a profound experience of love for Our Lady in the perfect renewal of the promises of baptism.

It was three months of blended and in-person preparation on Tuesday afternoons for an attentive and committed group of mothers, eager to live that experience of an itinerary never before traveled by the vast majority.

We began the training by learning about the life of Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort. We continued with the topic of Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, moving on to a general vision of the Treatise of True Devotion. Then, the study of the Treatise on True Devotion was divided into three parts:

Mary in the history of Salvation;
The cult of Mary in the Church;
Perfect Consecration to Jesus Christ.

On 1^st August, we began the 33 days of retreat in four stages:

Free yourself from the spirit of the world
Know yourself
Meet Our Lady
Know Jesus Christ

We followed this path and we made a pilgrimage firmly under the guidance of Father Jesu DOSS, SMM, and every week, we collected precious notes kept in the heart, performing spiritual exercises enriched by the audios sent daily by our formator in the last 33 days of preparation, living a strong moment of spiritual growth and maturation in faith.

Moreover, on September 7, we held a spiritual retreat at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Health in Dom Silvério, Minas Gerais, Diocese of Mariana, which was led that day by Father Jesu DOSS, SMM, Father Guilherme BRANDÃO, SMM, seminarian Vitor GALVANIN, SMM and Deacon Geraldo PONCIANO. There were countless testimonies of faith, human and spiritual growth during this time.

On September 19, the feast of Our Lady of La Salette, patron saint of the Movement of Mothers who pray for their children in and outside of Brazil, a Solemn Mass was celebrated in honor of Our Lady of La Salette and the Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary's hands.

There were 112 consecrated mothers, 112 hearts united with the same intention, a night marked by emotions, flowers, songs, lights, smiles and families. It was all governed by Father Jesu Doss, who became a beloved son of this movement and a great friend of mothers who pray for their children. He is a priest who taught a lot about Mary, our mother and teacher, not only with words, but above all, also with the testimony of love. The devotion to the Blessed Virgin nourished by Father Jesus is so crystalline and simple that it deeply touched the hearts of this group of mothers and led them to want to seek confirmation every day of their belonging to Jesus through the hands of Mary. It was a daily conquest by grace until the great day of the Consecration arrived, taking as a reference the great love of this Priest for the Blessed Virgin.
