Celebrating the Tercentenary in St Paul / Parish Gasume Nomad

Published by in Updates ·

Being witnesses of Wisdom Liberating at the heart of the world, we wanted to celebrate this special day in our Parish.
Since the launching of the tercentenary on the 5th July 2015 in the Cathedral at St. Gerard Parish / Kiunga, we also started taking the small step as Trichet community / Nomad to prepare our people by sharing with them the life of Montfort, praying in his way the Rosary to celebrate the 300 years of the death of Saint Louis –Marie de Montfort.  As we know, we had no Priest at that time, with the pastoral agent ,we prepared the Sunday service in the way that everyone could participate.
On the 25th October 2015 Sunday, the church was full; women, men and children with the nice songs that were lead by the sisters with harmonious melody.

During the celebration, Sr Cecilia Gabriel did the homely. She explained the meaning of the Tercentenary, our spirituality and charism as followers of Montfort and for vocation promotion. Luke , the pastoral agent was translating in their proper language for the people to understand.
It was a bright Sunday  and some villages were able to come even though it was the time of drought. After the Sunday service we had light refreshment and a sign of appreciation to all of us. We could see that all the faces were  telling us they were so happy. Everyone really enjoyed the day, laughing, making fun, on….
We were thankful to our good Lord and to Saint Louis Marie de Montfort. In the evening on the same date; we had big rain as sign of the blessings. Saint Louis –Marie de Montfort has been interceding for us.
We sincerely thanked the people of St. Paul Parish for their support and collaboration to help us to celebrate the folly of Wisdom.

- Sr Philomene Sanduku, DW
