STAGE 1: Facing Reality

EVIL ROOTED IN THE HEART
PLEADING FOR MERCY

PRAYER

Rosary

With St. Louis-Marie de Montfort, let us contemplate the Sorrowful Mysteries.

The Agony in the Garden. We offer you, Lord Jesus, this decade in honour of your immense agony in the garden of Olives. We ask you by this mystery and through the intercession of your holy Mother, sorrow for our sins.
May the grace of the mystery of the Agony in the Garden come down into our souls. Amen.

The Scourging. We offer you, Lord Jesus, this decade in honour of your cruel Scourging. We ask you by this mystery and through the intercession of your holy Mother, mortification of our senses.
May the grace of the mystery of the Scourging come down into our souls. Amen.

The Crowning with Thorns. We offer you, Lord Jesus, this decade in honour of your being crowned with Thorns. We ask you by this mystery and through the intercession of your holy Mother, rejection of the false values of this world.
May the grace of the mystery of the Crowning with Thorns come down into our souls. Amen.

The Carrying of the Cross. We offer you, Lord Jesus, this decade in honour of your carrying the Cross. We ask you by this mystery and through the intercession of your holy Mother, patience in carrying our cross after You all the days of our lives.
May the grace of the mystery of the Carrying of the Cross come down into our souls. Amen.

The Crucifixion of Jesus. We offer you, Lord Jesus, this decade in honour of your Crucifixion and Death on Mount Calvary. We ask you by this mystery and through the intercession of your holy Mother, conversion of sinners and perseverance of the just.
May the grace of the mystery of the Crucifixion come down into our souls. Amen.

Concluding Prayers

  • Ave Maris Stella (Just click or tap) or

  • The “Memorare”, an ancient prayer wrongly attributed to St. Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153). In truth it was popularised by Fr. Claude Bernard (1588-1641), known as the “Poor Priest”, dedicated to the preaching and aiding of prisoners and criminals condemned to death.
Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly to you,
O Virgin of virgins,
my Mother.
To you I come;
before you I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy
hear and answer me.
Amen!
