A Triduum to celebrate Montfort’s Feast Day

KISANGANI - As the feast of Saint Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort was approaching, a triduum was organized to remember his birth to heaven.
On the first day, guided with the theme: “Mary, Woman on a journey in the synodal path of today”, Reverend Father André BABUSIA, SMM, the speaker of the day, invited us to put ourselves in the school of Mary, to take Mary as the example of a mature woman, a woman of faith and to aspire to her virtues so as to make the Church an experience of synodality.
The theme of the second day was: “Dare be on a journey like Father de Montfort, with Audacity and Creativity”. Through this theme, Brother Barthélémy NSEGO, revealed to us that Montfort was able to take risks and his audacity had a compassionate face. We were invited to sympathize with others without discrimination, so as to attract them, like Montfort did. A spiritual center for young people will help in the effort of guiding them to welcome Jesus, through Mary, in their hearts.
Mary's life was a life of pilgrimages. And so, it was a pilgrimage to the Marian Shrine that marked the very day of the Feast of Montfort, followed by a celebration in the very chapel that bears his name. Reverend Father Guelord ASEME, SMM, Superior Delegate of the French-speaking Africa presided the Eucharist. In his homily, he spoke on conversion by recalling the example of Saint Paul the Apostle. Often in life, we do not want the good of others, if someone elevates himself, instead of rejoicing with him, we spread hatred. Today, Jesus invites us to remain in Him, without Him we can do nothing. If we remain in Him, we will bear much fruit.
On this joyful occasion, two of our brothers, Armand KIRISHIMBA, SMM and Emmanuel KWASIA, SMM made their final vows in the presence of Father Guelord ASEME, SMM.
A fraternal meal around these two brothers marked the feast day of Saint Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort.
