LILONGWE, Malawi- The Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA) Executive Board has appointed, Fr. Andrew Kaufa, SMM as the Coordinator – AMECEA Social Communications Department. The appointment will be effective from 1st August 2018.
According to the Outgoing Secretary General of AMECEA, Fr. Ferdinand Lugonzo, the appointment which is renewable for four years, is a sign of confidence and trust that the AMECEA Bishops have in Fr. Andrew.
Fr. Andrew accepted the appointment following prior communication with the Africa Anglophone General Delegation council. He is currently in USA for Sabbatical.
Meanwhile, the AMECEA, comprising of the Episcopal Conferences of Eritrea, Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan/South Sudan, Uganda, Zambia and the affiliate members of Djibouti and Somalia met for their regular quadrennial Plenary Assembly from 13th – 23rd July 2018 under the theme: “Vibrant Diversity, Equal Dignity, Peaceful Unity in God in the AMECEA Region.”
