Continental Mission Year 2022: “Rise and Shine, Montfort in Asia and Oceania”

Reynaldo asked Mr. Rodrigo, employee of the communications office of our Generalate in Rome, to start designing the website for the Asian and Oceanian Continental Year which will take place in 2022. The website which is now before your eyes is therefore the “work
of art” of Father Reynaldo and Mr. Rodrigo. This service is a wonderful gift of the communications team to this part of the world where our modest Company is present and works to cultivate the seeds of the Kingdom of God which are in the hearts of the people.

What is the driving force behind the animation of the Montfort Missionaries on these two continents, Asia and Oceania, where they will celebrate this continental year with the theme "Rise and Shine, Montfort in Asia and Oceania"? Based on the discussions between the General Council and the superiors of the four Montfortian entities of these two continents (India, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines) and then deepened by this year's “Animation Committee”, this event targets at least four points: 1) interaction between an "interior movement" capable of refreshing the Montfortian identity among missionaries and the other "exterior movement", that of unreserved commitment to evangelization, 2) reflection on the "dialogue to be built" between the context of Asia-Oceania and the Montfortian inspirations, 3) promotion of the missionary relationship of Montfortian Associates with Montfort Missionaries, and 4) search for fields and opportunities for inter-entity collaboration in all the existing multidimensional diversity.
The website is launched today, September 8, 2021, the Feast of the Nativity of Mary. The birth of Mary and the launching of the website is something symbolic, similar to the beginning of a mission. And this is due to the nature of the "light" which is implicitly mentioned in the theme of this continental year: to radiate outwards, to illuminate. But for this, our lamps must have a sufficient stock of oil. Thus, Mary, the Mother of the Church, in cooperation with the Holy Spirit, will help to illuminate this ideal of “Rise and Shine!” and to chart a convincing direction for the missionaries of these two continents, with their lay missionary associates, and even between the members of the three Montfortian congregations working on these two continents.
In today's world still scarred by the Covid-19 pandemic, prayers to the Most Merciful God are intense so that He may bless and protect all mankind. As for the implementation of all the calendars or agendas relating to this continental year which has begun to be established, we can only repeat to God who is in charge of everything: “Your will be done”.
