MARIENHEIDE, Germany - Fr. Gerd-Willi Bergers, SMM, the new Superior of the General Delegation of Germany, made his Profession of Faith in the Montfort Church in Marienheide.
The birth of the Blessed Virgin was, then, one of the foremost events of history. Mary was, is, and will always be “the” woman, chosen from among all women for all time, to become the Mother of the Redeemer and His Co-Redemptrix.
Then the LORD God said to the snake: Because you have done this, cursed are you among all the animals, tame or wild; On your belly you shall crawl, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel. (Gen 3: 14-15)
The woman to whom God refers is none other than Mary – a woman who would not be born until centuries later. Indeed, she wasn’t simply “a” woman, but she was and is “the” woman. The child, God reveals in the Garden of Eden, would become the mother of Christ and the woman who would be victorious against Satan and all his cunning ways.
As we celebrate the birthday of Mary, we admire her simplicity, faithfulness, fidelity and commitment to the call of God. With these words, Fr. Gerd-Willi Bergers made his Profession of Faith in the Montfort Church in Marienheide, Germany. It was a very meaningful celebration and we could feel the togetherness and the spirit of community life here in Marienheide.
Moreover, we also celebrated the 60 years of final profession jubilee of Fr. Hubert Fuss. He was very happy to come back to the community and to celebrate his jubilee with the other confreres. He was also representing Father General during the oath taking ceremony of Fr. Gerd-Willi BERGERS.
The Montfortian community at Marienheide was delighted with this triple joy celebrated with the new Delegation team and with Fr. Hubert Fuss as they gather for a fellowship meal.
We wish the new Delegation team all the best and the blessings of God!
Fr. Francis Xavier Antony, SMM
