ROME, Italy - On Sunday, 27th of March 2022, twenty-two lay people renewed their consecration to Jesus through Mary according to the teachings of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort at the Sanctuary of Mary Queen of All Hearts in Via Romagna. The day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 11:00 a.m. at the Generalate grotto. It was presided by Fr. Jailos MPINA, SMM along with SMM Fathers Richard MAGARARU, Benjie NOTARTE, Steve MUKUSA and Montfort SOUFFRANT as concelebrants.

After the Holy Mass, a quick lunch was served. Then a pilgrimage to the Sanctuary followed. The Superior of the International Scholasticate community, Fr. Aldo BOLIS, SMM, along with Bro. Oliver ABASOLO DE LOS REYES, SMM welcomed the pilgrims and explained in detail about the sanctuary and the statue of Mary Queen of All Hearts.

The Rite of Consecration started with the praying of the Little Crown. The present members of the Association of Mary Queen of All Hearts (AMQAH) were happy to have renewed their consecration at the Sanctuary.

One of the TTJ-Rome First Batch members, Jose Ricardo Alegre Fajardo felt re-energized during the consecration.
“I just felt recharged and cleansed in my mind, soul and spirit and it helped me a lot and reminded me the true blessings of God and His Son Jesus Christ as we need to include constantly in our everyday life even in the hardest time and trials that are passing by in our life through the faith and example of Mama Mary” he said.

In an interview with Fr. Richard who accompanied the group with recollection and the rite of consecration said that he was happy that the renewal of the Consecration of the First Batch of Filipinos went well.

“The Recollection which was held a week before the consecration prepared them well. It was my suggestion to hold the Renewal at the Sanctuary of Mary Queen of All Hearts to inspire our associates and still teach them the meaning of consecration. In the big statue at the center, we find St. Louis-Marie de Montfort kneeling down, showing an example of self-offering to Jesus through Mary. The experiences they had with the planned activities hopefully will inspire them to be committed and serious in their Christian life.”

Fr. Richard, who is in Rome as he is preparing to go for the mission in Great Britain, highlighted that Fr. Reynaldo BULLAS Jr., SMM organized the group and initiated them to Montfortian spirituality through the guidance of Fr. Arnold SUHARDI, SMM. It was his desire that it will be deepened through the help of other Montfortian confreres who will be available. He said that Fr. Rey will be happy seeing that what he started is being continued. He stated further that they need to be nourished and formed to be truly Montfortian Associates and believes that it is the task of confreres.

The twenty-two AMQAH members are among the 25 Filipinos who belong to the First Batch who underwent the Totus Tuus Journey (TTJ) and made their consecration on the 12th of September 2021 here at the Montfort Missionaries Generalate Grotto.
