QUEZON CITY, Philippines - The SMM Philippine Delegation started the year 2018 with a General Assembly last January 11-12 at the Delegation House in New Manila, Quezon City. The meeting was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Benjie A. Notarte, SMM. He thanked all the confreres for their full participation in the life of the delegation in the previous year. The priorities of the delegation on Vocation Animation, Formation, On Going-Formation, Mission and Self-Sufficiency were highlighted in the gathering. The individuals were called to re-visit and to evaluate the activities which the delegation has fruitfully done for the past six months. The members were divided into small groups for sharing of experiences and the fruits of it were shared to the whole assembly. All were challenged and felt motivated to continue what has been started.
On the next day in the afternoon, the delegation assembly culminated in a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided by Rev. Fr. Richard J. Magararu, SMM, Delegation Superior and joined by his councilors Rev. Fr. Sherwin Y. Nunez, SMM and Rev. Fr. Benjie A. Notarte, SMM. Before the final blessing, Fr. Richard announced that Fr. Benjie will be going to Rome in May to attend a training in Communications for three months. He also introduced the new Indonesian priest in the community, Rev. Fr. Ordi who will stay in the Philippines to study.
The Post New Year gathering together with the Lay Associates, some benefactors and friends then followed. It was hosted by the Novitiate and the Old Montfort Center Communities. The house was filled with joy as everyone enjoyed the games and the presentations of each community. The exchanging of gifts has added to the fun also. A simple dinner was also served.
It was indeed a good start of the year for the whole delegation, imbibing positivity, hope and camaraderie. We thank the Lord and ask Him through Mary to be with us always as we continue our journey together.
Glory to God Alone!
