ROME - The last day is opened as usual with Eucharistic Adoration from 7:30 to 8 am, followed by breakfast.
At 10 a.m., we all gathered in the chapter house to welcome Cardinal João BRAZ DE AVIZ, Prefect of the Dicastery for Consecrated Life, accompanied by our Fr. Pier Luigi NAVA, SMM. The wait was prolonged because of the roman traffic and the cardinal did not arrive until 10:45 a.m., the time of the Eucharistic celebration. But the cardinal did not give up an exchange with us, a very interesting and stimulating exchange, which showed us a new mentality for our life of consecration.
We prepared for the closing Mass, presided over by the cardinal. Brother John KALLARACKAL, superior general of the Brothers of St. Gabriel with Bro. Dionigi TAFFARELLO, his vicar, and the Mother general, Sr. Rani KURIAN with the whole council of the Daughters of Wisdom were also present. After which, we had our final group photo.
We were very late on the roadmap and this obliged Fr. Vito of the Passionists to intervene and interrupt the moment of the aperitif to go for lunch.
Immediately after lunch, despite of the bad weather: clouds, water, thunder and lightning, the confreres left and went to the Curia while others went directly to the airport and to the Termini station! But for everyone: “Abundant rain, you have poured O God, invigorate your exhausted inheritance…!”
Thank you, thank you, thank you very much to everyone for this wonderful family experience.
God bless the new administration. May the Blessed Virgin and Father de Montfort accompany each one in his steps back to his mission and give us the courage to “Dare to take risks for God and for humanity”.
