ANTANANARIVO, Madagascar - It is with the annunciation that God begins his plan of salvation for men. God enters time, he integrates himself into human history. The Holy Trinity chooses to reach its people in a somewhat special way. To carry out this plan, God collaborates with a young girl from Nazareth who knows how to give herself fully by saying a “yes” full of trust; a "yes" that the whole world is waiting for. Father de Montfort discovered the greatness of this spirituality so well that he made it his own as one of his own way of life. So, following Father de Montfort, the Montfortian family in Antananarivo Madagascar solemnly celebrated the Annunciation of the Lord on 25th March.
For the three congregations, Company of Mary, Brothers St. Gabriel, and Daughter of Wisdom, in Madagascar, used to celebrate together the Montfortian feasts r to cement unity and to feed more on the flavor of Montfortian spirituality. For the Montfortian family in Antananarivo, the three congregations gathered at Anjomakely Antananarivo, Chez les Frères Saint Gabriel to celebrate the Annunciation of the Lord.
The celebration began with a Mass during which Brother RATAFITANIAINA Joseph Victor SMM, Montfortian scholastic, received the mission of Lector and Acolyte. The Mass was presided over by Fr Bruno RANDIANASOLO KIKY, SMM, the Superior of the Vice-Province of the Company of Mary in Madagascar. During the homily, Father Bruno shared a message from Pope Francis about Mary's attitude after receiving the good news of the incarnation. Marie got up and went hastily to her cousin Elisabeth. It has been said that we are invited to bring Jesus to those who need help. Getting up means waking up, which is a perpetual effort for man who is sometimes obsessed with self-admiration. You have to leave your home to go to the other with Jesus, the good news. The celebration ended with a meal of conviviality and a sharing of joy.
Let us therefore pray to the Lord that each member of the great Montfortian family, through Mary, will have the attitude of giving place to the other and of risking something for God.
“AVE Hail Mary, at your Annunciation! Virgin completely full, With the unction, Of Wisdom Who caresses you, And who comes to you from Sion.” Cantique 90, 12.
