PHILIPPINES - After almost nine months of preparation for the total consecration to Jesus through Mary, the fifteen persons to be consecrated from St. Francis Parish in Mandaluyong had a day of recollection with Fr. Arnel V. Pagaduan, SMM at the SMM Delegation House last March 16, 2019. They are composed mostly of the Legion of Mary from Pasig, Mandaluyong and San Juan.
Looking back at their journey and revisiting the commitments they made every end of the session, it gave them the opportunity to see how they integrated all the learnings and experiences they had before reaching the point of personal commitment in renewing their baptismal promises through the consecration to Jesus through Mary. The day was concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided by Fr. Arnel.
After a week, they made their consecration on March 23, 2019, two days before the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord at the Montfort Center of Spirituality in Quezon City. The liturgy of consecration and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided by Delegation Superior Rev. Fr. Norwyn V. Baydo, SMM with Rev. Fr. Arnel V. Pagaduan, SMM as concelebrant.
On the same day, the TTJ Batch 20 had also their recollection at Schoenstatt Retreat House in Talisay, Cebu with Rev. Fr. Federick B. Yumang, SMM as recollection facilitator. The day was spent in prayer and reflection by looking back at the journey for almost nine months with the synthesis of the whole process and their own experiences of faith in their different contexts in life. They also reflected on the relevance of the Totus Tuus Journey in the daily living of their faith as Christians of today and the challenge of sharing with joy to others their experiences of Jesus through Mary.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Rene S. Bustillo, SMM of the Cebu Mission Team. After the confession, Fr. Fed, SMM presided the celebration of the Holy Eucharist as a conclusion of the recollection day. The following day on the eve of the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, the twenty brothers and sisters made their consecration to Jesus through Mary during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided by Fr. Fed with Fr. Rene at the Montfort Mission House in Lower Calajo-an, Minglanilla, Cebu. A sumptuous meal prepared by the members of AMQAH and the TTJers Cebu was served. A short program concluded the celebration.
