New Melodies of Father de Montfort's Canticles in progress

MONTFORT-SUR-MEU, France - “God loves singing, angels sing, and by singing, we are like them.” “God wants his servants to sing and be merry” “to sing in the heavens above”, said Father de Montfort. If he lived in our time, he would undoubtedly have caused a sensation. In his time, he knew how to make the most of the jewels that are hymns. “How many souls have been led and brought back to Our Lord, thanks to these rhymed and melodic instructions,” said Louis Cardinal Dubois.

This recent weekend of January 13 and 14, 2024, “Les Voix de Montfort”, a team composed of musicians, singers, a sound engineer and two lighting designers completed the recording of 14 hymns by Father de Montfort harmonized by Father Willi.

Arrived in France in 2018, Father Willi SELMAN, SMM was at the service of Calvary and the Parish of Sainte Croix de Montfort, Pontchâteau. He is now an auxiliary priest at the Parish of Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort in Brocéliande, Montfort-sur-Meu. He puts his talent as a composer/singer at the service of Montfortian spirituality in his musical adaptations of Father de Montfort's Canticles, while preserving the integrity of the texts. Since 2022, a dedicated team of singers, musicians and technicians has surrounded it to bring to life this timeless work of our Founder. The success of the 5 concerts of the year 2023 only animates the enthusiasm in France.

It is a laborious mission, but the zeal and talent of the team ensure the quality of the project. The CD is scheduled to be released before April 14, 2024. Let's go!
