Supplication to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
ROME - “…Last year, I wanted to consecrate the Church and the whole world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, especially Ukraine and Russia. And I ask you, who are the Company of Mary, to renew this act of trust and this supplication. Heavenly Mother, help us all to seek with courage and creativity paths of forgiveness, dialogue, acceptance and peace for all humanity" (From the address of the Holy Father Francis to the participants in the General Chapter of the Company of Mary, 20.05.2023). Welcoming Pope Francis' invitation to the Company of Mary to renew the act of consecration and supplication to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we address ourselves with his words to the Queen of Peace, so that she may help everyone to seek paths of courage and creativity, forgiveness, dialogue, acceptance and peace for all humanity.
A lamp is lit in front of the image of the Virgin. Then all together:
O Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, in this hour of tribulation, we turn to you. You are Mother, you love us and you know us: nothing is hidden from you about what is dear to our hearts. Mother of mercy, we have experienced your provident tenderness many times, your presence which restores peace, so that you always lead us to Jesus, Prince of Peace.
Accept then, O Mother, our supplication.
You, star of the sea, don't let us be shipwrecked in the storm of war.
You, ark of the new covenant, inspire projects and ways of reconciliation.
You, "Earth of Heaven", bring back the harmony of God in the world.
Extinguish hatred, appease revenge, teach us forgiveness.
Deliver us from war, save the world from nuclear threat.
Queen of the Rosary, awaken in us the need to pray and to love.
Queen of the human family, show the people the path of brotherhood.
Queen of peace, obtain peace for the world.
Mother of God and our Mother, we solemnly entrust and consecrate to your Immaculate Heart ourselves, the Church and all humanity, especially Russia and Ukraine. Accept this act that we perform with confidence and love, end the war, bring peace to the world. The yes that came from your Heart opened the doors of history to the Prince of Peace; we trust that always, through your Heart, peace will come. We therefore consecrate to you the future of the whole human family, the needs and expectations of peoples, the concerns and hopes of the world. Amen.
