Assembly Reflection 2022
USA - The USA Vice Province of the Montfort Missionaries gathered on February 18th and 19th for our Assembly. We were grateful to God that we were able to gather for the first time in person since the beginning of the pandemic. Unfortunately, we weren’t all together. Our brothers in the Nicaraguan mission were not able to join us in person but we did gather through the technology of ZOOM. We welcomed Fr. Luizinho and Fr. Wismick who were able to spend a good amount of time with us.
The agenda of the Assembly was simple and clear. We are members of an international community who care through ministry and presence for many people in our world. Fr. Luizinho shared with us the experience of the Intercontinental gatherings in all the continents. Fr. Wismick shared with us the progress of the Commissions that assist the General Administration to carry out the priorities of the General Chapter.
We also took care of some administrative needs for the Vice Province, renewed our commitment to live an ethical ministerial life with the renewal of our Child Protection Standards, and received a report of the status of our financial reality. All of this was wrapped in the atmosphere of prayer and communal sharing around two main tables - sharing in the Eucharist and time together in meals.
We concluded with the presentation by Fr. Luizinho on the consultation for leadership that was conducted in the months prior to our Assembly. We now go forward caring for the mission in the spirit of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort and Blessed Marie-Louise of Jesus. We invoke their guidance as we discern the coming three years under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, walking in trust and providence accompanied by Mary at our side. God Alone!
