BANGALORE, India - On the auspicious day of November 26th in Maria Bhavan, our Scholasticate community, a sacred ceremony unfolded as Deacons Peter ANTHONY, SMM and Martin SELVANAYAGAM, SMM were ordained to priesthood in the presence of a devout congregation consisting of 60 priests, religious brothers and sisters, laity, families of the ordinandi, and Montfortian friends. This momentous event holds special significance as the newly ordained deacons are bestowed as a gift upon the vice-province of India in commemoration of its Golden Jubilee.
The Holy Eucharistic celebration, presided over by the esteemed Most Reverend Dr. Raja Rao, SMM, was a deeply enriching experience for all in attendance. During the ceremony, Dr. Raja Rao eloquently expounded on the profound importance and meaning of priesthood, delving into the intrinsic value of the sacrament.
