Meeting of the Association of Mary Queen of Hearts in Mexico
TAMAULIPAS, Mexico - On January 15, 2024, the Association of Mary Queen of Hearts had the great opportunity to welcome Fr. Luiz Augusto STEFANI, SMM of the Company of Mary to pray and deepen our spirituality, and to involve the laity in missionary activities. Together, we have prepared this meeting and a small program to visit and get to know the different communities where spirituality has spread, to get closer to families and to live with each of the priests of some of the parishes where the associates are collaborating.
On the first day, he was received by our directors, Fr. Joel ALANÍS and Fr. Juan José AGUILAR, who accompanied him to meet our bishop, Msgr. José Armando ÁLVAREZ CANO. Fr. Luiz sincerely thanked the Archbishop for all his support to the associates who shared their experiences and talked about the development of the laity in the diocese. In the afternoon, we then went to the Parish of Fray Elías del Socorro Nieves in Cd. Madero, Tamaulipas where Fr. Juan José welcomed him and together, they celebrated the Holy Eucharist with a fraternal message to all the faithful.
Moreover, on the second day, we scheduled the diocesan meeting at the Monasterio de las Adoratrices wherein Fr. Luiz offered us a talk with reflections and questions on Montfortian spirituality, Adoration and we culminated with the Eucharistic celebration. Before saying goodbye, the laity came to meet and talk with the Father as he took the time to talk to each of the people present. Indeed, it was a great experience to everyone.
In the afternoon of the third day, we also visited the parish community of Nuestra Señora del Carmen with Fr. Dionisio Pedraza HERNÁNDEZ. Both of them celebrated the Eucharist and Fr. Luiz shared a talk about Fr. Montfort’s life and his apostolic mission. We hope that the writings of Fr. Louis-Marie come to light more and more. In addition, the community greeted him with a great welcome.
Likewise, in the Parish of Santiago Apóstol in Altamira, Tamaulipas, the Association of Mary Queen of Hearts organized an hour of adoration on Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. to adore and contemplate the mysteries of the Holy Rosary as a simple means to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Wisdom.
Finally, we invited Fr. Luiz to visit the community, greet Fr. Bernardo Segura, share adoration with us, and meet another group of consecrated persons before ending his visit. We hope that this meeting will serve as an impetus to make our communities more fraternal through a more committed ongoing formation.
We are truly grateful to the Delgado del Ángel, Cruz Aguilera and Martínez Gómez families for the preparation of the food, to the Gutiérrez Salazar family for their hospitality and to each one who made this meeting possible with their presence, help and availability. To the members of the Association who came from Jalisco – Guadalajara, thank you very much. Your presence in these days has been very important.
