Five Montfort deacons in Indonesia

MALANG, Indonesia - On April 25, 2024, the Montfort Missionaries in Indonesia rejoiced with the ordination to the diaconate of five Montfortians: Gregorius AVI, David RABIM, Marianus NICANDRA CEHA, Fransiskus SAILTUS BEMBID and Ferdinandus NGAMBUT. They received diaconal ordination alongside deacons from other congregations and several dioceses. The number of ordained deacons was twenty-six. The Eucharistic celebration of ordination was presided over by Mgr. Henricus Pidyarto GUNAWAN, O.Carm, Bishop of Malang Diocese and was held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel.

As an expression of gratitude for the special gift given to these five Montfort deacons, the community of the Montfort Seminary “Abode of Wisdom”, Malang organized a simple reception in the Van Kessel Hall. On this occasion, one of the five deacons affirmed in his sharing that the spirit of Montfortian fraternity in this community strengthened their efforts to humbly respond to God's call to serve His people. Moreover, Father Anton TENSI, SMM, Provincial, hopes that these deacons will not only be useful to the community of the faithful but they will also become holy deacons. Congratulations to these five deacons.
